Gino Iannucci has designed a few dunks, and his second pair are the aptly named the Nike Dunk Low SB Gino 2. The shoe is part of the first year of Nike SB from 2002.
The main standout features of the shoe are the triple black colorway (with an odd blue colored insole) and the perforations all over the leather panels. The name “Gino” is synonymous with this perf pattern with respect to Nike SB.
An all-black shoe seems like it would be easy to match, and it is. You can wear a light outfit that makes the shoes pop, or some dark jeans and a black hoodie. Since there’s not that much detail on the shoe, feel free to wear some accessories or a graphic tee to spice up your outfit. I’ve also pulled these off with some camo joggers. Camo and black do tend to work well together when proportioned correctly.
The triple black colorway really makes these stand out. It’s odd for a black shoe to possess so much flair, but these are somehow super stylish. Maybe I’m tripping, but the black seems “deeper” on these than other black kicks. Highly recommend these for SB collectors.
How Are The Materials?
The materials are excellent on these. The shoes sport some leather on the toebox and side panel and suede/nubuck on most of the rest of the upper. The suede is very soft and buttery although not in a lush way. The leather is smooth and seems to be thick and of good quality. Overall, it’s hard to beat the quality found on orange box SB’s.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Dunk Low SB Gino 2 fit true to size and are very comfortable. These are a beefy dunk low and I do not recommend going down in size. The padding and simplicity of construction make these a great shoe to wear for long periods of time.
